Stump as a Planter
One way is to convert your tree stump into a planter. A tree stump makes a fabulous setting for a bunch of white Shasta daisies, yellow marigolds, or bright red geraniums. Use Stump to Make a Birdbath
Create a birdbath by putting a big shallow saucer or bowl on your tree stump’s top surface. These decorative bowls and dishes can be bought at home and garden stores. Be sure the container is secure on top of the stump so animals and pets can’t knock it off. If you want, you could put bird seed in your saucer or bowl and make your tree stump into a bird feeder.
Mosaic Table Stump
Energetic, colored mosaic glass tiles can change the top of your tree stump into incredible artwork. You can get mosaic tiles and glue at any craft store. Take a little time and plan out your ornate design on paper before beginning with the tiles and glue. A tree stump converted into a mosaic table would be a vibrant addition to your deck or patio.
Tic-Tac-Toe Board
This is a fun idea if you have children who love to play tic-tac-toe. What you will need to do is make the stump’s top even and draw a tic-tac-toe board on it with vivid white chalk. Participants can put oversized plastic O’s and X’s on the game board. Or, they can draw the O’s and X’s with colored chalk. For a new game of tic-tac-toe, all that is needed is a wet cloth to wipe the board clean.
